For the past 10 years, Dionne Smith has been shaping the lives of children through arts and therapy. Growing up in Goldsboro North Carolina, Dionne established a love for dance and begin to use it as an outlet for self expression and creativity. Through grade school, Dionne participated in Recreational dance programs that incorporated all styles of dance (modern, African, jazz, hip-hop & contemporary). After graduating from North Carolina Central University, Dionne became a therapist and mental health specialist for children and adolescents. She discovered ways to incorporate dance into her work by becoming certified in Dance Movement Therapy. She is dedicated to fostering young dancers into creating their own methods of self-expression and creativity.
